Zen Marie

Zen Marie is building an archive of documentation of  street fashion in the Johannesburg inner city as a way of mapping the territory through representations of identy and expressions of subjectivity rather than through traditional geography, taxonomy and the itemisation of space. The city ‘qua city’ exists for him  as a “mindscape”, a perception, rather than a “landscape”. The city is a phenomenological entity whose boundaries and qualities are determined by the perceptions of its inhabitants.
